NMRV Worm Gearbox - Selection, Calculation, and Technical Specifications

Before selecting an NMRV worm gearbox, the following parameters need to be known:

  • Motor power (kW) and speed (RPM)

  • Required output speed (RPM) or ratio

  • Required output torque (N·m)

  • Self-locking requirement? (YES for hoists, inclined conveyors)

  • Mounting position – affects oil level

Calculation formula for NMRV aluminum shell turbine reducer:

  • Ratio = Motor RPM ÷ Output RPM

  • Output Torque = Motor Torque × Ratio × Efficiency

  • Always include efficiency – worm gearboxes lose 10-60% depending on ratio

Apply service factor – uniform load 1.0, moderate shock 1.25-1.50, heavy shock 1.75-2.0

Pro tip: Send us your motor specs and application – we'll recommend the exact NMRV model
