packaging machinery gear motor
Four main types of geared motors used in packaging machinery:
****Planetary Gear Motors:** Compact design, extremely high torque density,
backlash as low as ≤1 arcminute, and efficiency exceeding 97%. Ideal for servo-driven
indexing systems,
pick-and-place robots, and high-precision packaging machinery.
****Helical-Bevel Gear Motors:** Offer right-angle output with
efficiencies up to 94%–96%,
making them an economical choice for conveyors and continuously
operating packaging lines.
**Worn Gear Motors:** Compact design, extremely high reduction ratio
and self-locking function,
ideal for lifts, cranes, and conveyors requiring safety and no additional
braking for handling heavy objects.
**Hyperboloid Gear Motors:** Featuring a compact right-angle design
offering very high torque and efficiency,
suitable for conveyors, food processing equipment, and
space-constrained packaging machinery.
**Main Applications:** Vacuum forming machines, filling and capping machines,
cartoning and case packing machines,
shrink packaging systems, labeling equipment, gap filling and sealing machines,
as well as conveyors and indexing systems.
For example, classic packaging equipment like positive and
negative pressure thermoforming machines are generally
divided into three-station and four-station types, including a feeding station,
upper and lower mold stations, a cutting station,
a stacking station, a conveying and logistics station,
and a waste material collection station.
Applications include KGK series helical and bevel gear reducers,
worm gear RV reducers,
motors, and screw jacks. Common power ratings are 0.37KW, 0.55KW,
0.75KW, 1.1KW, 1.5KW, 5.5KW, and 7.5KW.
**Key Selection Parameters:**
- **Backlash:** Excessive backlash leads to motion loss and inaccurate indexing.
Precision packaging requires low-backlash gearboxes—ideally,
the backlash of multi-head weighing devices
should be less than 5 arcminutes, and the backlash of highly
dynamic automated devices should
be less than or equal to 1.5 arcminutes.
- **Torque Density:** Compact footprint and wide load range minimize energy consumption.
- **Work Cycles**: Packaging equipment operates frequently in cycles,
repeatedly accelerating and
decelerating—the gearbox must be able to withstand high cyclic workloads.
- **Wash Protection**: Food-grade applications require
an IP65+ protection rating, a stainless steel housing
and food-grade lubricants.
- **Efficiency and Heat Dissipation**: High-speed operation generates heat; an efficient
gearbox reduces heat buildup and extends lubricant life.
