H2: The Standard Configuration

The most common combination is a 1400 RPM single phase motor with an NMRV050 at 40:1 ratio, 

producing 35 RPM output — ideal for cement mixers and conveyor applications.

Selection Formula:

●Ratio = Motor RPM ÷ Desired Output RPM

●Example: 1400 RPM ÷ 35 RPM = 40:1

5 Common Mistakes to Avoid

1. Wrong flange type – B5 flange is standard on NMRV units. If your motor has a B14 flange (small square),

 an adapter plate is required.

2. Ignoring input shaft diameter – NMRV050 accepts 11mm, 14mm, or 19mm input shafts. Confirm before 

ordering.

3. Forgetting self-locking behavior – Ratios 30:1 and above are self-locking — the load cannot back-drive

 when power is off. Critical for hoists and inclined conveyors.

4. Wrong voltage – Single phase motors come in 110V, 220V, etc. Match your power supply.

5. Undersizing the motor – Insufficient power cannot deliver adequate torque.
