H1: Gearbox Oil Change Guide – First Change at 200-300 Hours, Then Every 5000 Hours or Annually


Proper lubrication is the most critical factor in extending gearbox service life. This guide covers when to change gearbox oil, which brands to choose, and what precautions to follow.

H2 First oil change for gearbox:

The new equipment should undergo its first oil change after running for 200-300 hours to remove impurities generated during the break in period.


H2 regular oil change:

For reducers that work continuously for a long time, it is recommended to replace the lubricating oil every 5000 hours of operation or once a year.

If the device has not been used for a long time, it should also be replaced with new oil before restarting.

1. precautions:

When changing the oil, ensure that the equipment temperature has cooled to a safe state, but keep it warm to avoid excessive viscosity of the oil.

Mixing lubricants of different brands or models is strictly prohibited to avoid affecting the lubrication effect.

1. Gear oil:

International brands such as Mobil and Shell gear oils have good wear resistance and thermal stability.

2. Lubricating grease:
