What technical parameters are required for a gear motor inquiry form
Required Parameters for Gear Motor Request for Quotation: Fill in These 8 Items
Correctly to Save Three Days of Back-and-Forth Quotations
A vague request for quotation will inevitably result in a vague quote.
Gear motors are not standard parts; missing even one parameter will either
prevent the supplier from providing a price or result in an exorbitant price with
significant margins. Filling in the following 8 parameters accurately
will transform a quote from "for reference only" to "readily usable."

1. Load Torque and Duty Cycle
Instead of asking "What is the motor's power?", specify the required output torque (Nm)
and whether it's for continuous operation or intermittent start-stop. Torque determines
gear strength, and the duty cycle determines thermal power verification. Lacking either of these
will make the selection process unfocused.
2. Output Speed and Speed Ratio Range
The target speed directly determines the reduction ratio. If there is an allowable speed range
specify it as well. Suppliers can match the closest available speed ratio from the standard range
avoiding additional charges for non-standard ratios.
3. Motor Type and Energy Efficiency Requirements
Specify whether it's an AC induction motor, servo motor, or DC motor, and the IE3 or IE4 energy
efficiency rating. This determines the overall energy efficiency benchmark and
subsequent compliance costs. IV. Installation Method and Space Dimensions
Is it flange mounting or foot mounting? What are the relative positions of the input and
output shafts? What are the maximum dimensions of the reserved installation space?
These directly affect whether a standard housing can be selected, or whether a new mold must be created.
V. Protection Rating and Environmental Description
Specify IP54, IP55, or IP65, and whether it is exposed to dust, flushing water, or chemicals.
The environment determines the oil seal material, breather type, and anti-corrosion coating.
Ignoring this section may result in rust and oil leaks within six months of delivery.
VI. Inertia Matching Requirements (Required for Servo Applications)
High-dynamic applications require the load inertia value. The supplier will use this to check the
inertia ratio and determine whether the reduction ratio needs adjustment to avoid
uncontrolled oscillation of the entire machine.
VII. Expected Delivery Time and Batch Quantity
Is it a sample order or an annual framework agreement? Is the expected delivery time in stock,
15 days, or a standard delivery time acceptable? This directly affects production scheduling and pricing.
VIII. Special Certifications and Export Requirements
Is CE, UL, ATEX explosion-proof certification or food-grade NSF H1 lubrication required?
Lacking this information could cause the entire shipment to get stuck at customs or
during the acceptance process.
A completed inquiry form is essentially a precise selection task list. It allows suppliers to quickly
find the most cost-effective and reliable solution, giving you control over the procurement process.
We assign a dedicated engineer to each inquiry. Enter your parameters into our inquiry template, and
you'll receive a complete solution with torque curves, heat capacity verification, and installation drawings
within 24 hours. [Download our standard inquiry form for precise 1-on-1 quotes and selection support]
