K Series Gearbox – First-Time Buyer‘s Complete Guide

What Is a K Series Gearbox?

K Series gearbox is a right-angle helical bevel gear unit. The input and output shafts are perpendicular (90°) to each other-. This makes it ideal for applications where space is tight and you need to change the drive direction.

Common names you may encounter: Bevel helical gearbox, right-angle reducer, K series speed reducer, K series geared motor

Typical applications: Conveyors, mixers, crushers, bucket elevators, cranes, hoists, and mining equipment

What Information Do You Need Before Buying?
Before you contact any supplier, gather these 5 pieces of information. This will save you time and ensure you get the right quote:

1. Motor Power (KW)

What is the power of your motor? K Series covers 0.12 – 200 kW.

2. Required Output Speed or Ratio

Ratio (i) = Motor RPM ÷ Desired Output RPM

Example: 1450 RPM motor, need 25 RPM output → i = 1450 ÷ 25 = 58:1

K Series standard ratios range from 5.36 up to 14,526 (combined)

3. Required Output Torque (N·m)

Torque (N·m) = (Power × 9550 × Ratio × Efficiency) ÷ Motor RPM

K Series efficiency: ≥95%

4. Mounting Type

K Series offers multiple mounting options:

K – Foot mounted

KF – Flange mounted (B5 flange)

KA – Hollow shaft

KAF – Hollow shaft + flange

5. Mounting Position (M1–M6)

K Series supports M1 to M6 mounting positions. Different positions affect oil level and lubrication. Specify your position when ordering.
